Regional Services
The Intergovernmental Services (IGS) Program encompasses the services provided to the region that are not normally considered pure planning activities. IGS staffs the Association’s public relations and outreach operations; communicates with state and federal elected and appointed officials; organizes state and federal grant applications and disburses funds and coordinates intergovernmental programs including the Association’s interface with the 9-1-1 Association and Operation FireSAFE, the region's juvenile firesetting prevention program.
IGS also promotes clean air through the annual air quality public education campaign, and other public educaiton programs, such as stormwater best practices, integrated regional mosquito control management and other programs and initiatives that are best administered on a regional basis.
IGS also works with small communities with Capital Improvement Planning (CIP). CIP is a program that plans for the repair and replacement of publicly owned assets.
