Regional Visioning

In 1993, ACOG was instrumental in initiating Central Oklahoma 2020, a year-long regional strategic planning effort designed to bring Central Oklahomans together to create a vision of our ideal future and to outline a specific plan of action to make that vision a reality. Since the planning phase of the project was completed in spring 1994, ACOG has taken a leadership role in implementing several of the 12 initiatives created.

Also, staff members coordinate regular meetings of the Central Oklahoma Mayors’ Round Table and worked with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce to develop a Central Oklahoma Regional Leadership Institute. As a result of visionary elected officials, staff expertise as well as technical and administrative resources, ACOG plays an essential role in other Central Oklahoma 2020 initiatives related to transportation, the environment and infrastructure maintenance.
