Canadian River Project

Project Description

Starting in 2007, ACOG organized a project on the Canadian River for a dozen dischargers, including Moore, Mustang, Noble, Norman, Oklahoma City, Purcell and Union City. This project is designed to be a wasteload allocation on a watershed scale. The preliminary field work and quality assurance project plan phase was completed by March 2010 and full scale sampling completed Summer 2010. WASP modeling has been completed and the final report has been sent to the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) in Oct 2014. The Canadian River Project is a good example of how regional our thinking about water must be – we all are upstream from someone. We must be good stewards of the resource and work together to achieve the water quality standards of the state of Oklahoma.
