ACOG HONORS MIDWEST CITY MAYOR MATT DUKES FOR A DECADE OF REGIONAL LEADERSHIP

The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) Board of Directors recognized Midwest City Mayor Matt Dukes for his outstanding service and leadership during its March 26, 2026 meeting, marking the conclusion of his decade-long involvement with the organization.

Mayor Dukes joined ACOG as Midwest City’s delegate on April 13, 2016, beginning ten years of active participation in advancing regional collaboration across Central Oklahoma. Shortly after joining, he was elected as an officer of the ACOG Board of Directors in July 2016 and went on to serve as Board Chair from July 2018 to June 2020.

Throughout his tenure, Mayor Dukes played a significant role in shaping regional policy and strengthening partnerships. He served on the Garber-Wellington Association Policy Committee for four years, including a term as Chair from July 2024 to June 2025. In July 2025, he was elected Secretary/Treasurer for the 911 ACOG Board of Directors, further demonstrating his continued commitment to regional initiatives.

In addition to his leadership roles, Mayor Dukes was an active and engaged member of several key committees, including the Building Review Committee, Budget Committee, Nominations Committee, and Executive Committee. His thoughtful input and collaborative approach contributed to many important discussions and decisions impacting the region.

As Mayor Dukes concludes his service as both an ACOG officer and Midwest City delegate, the Board presented him with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his years of dedication and service to ACOG and the region.
