
ACOG Congratulates David Frick on Election to Department of Energy Clean Cities Coalition Council
The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) proudly congratulates David Frick on his recent election to the Department of Energy (DOE) Clean Cities Coalition Council for the South Central Region!
David has served as Air Quality & Clean Cities Planner III and Co-Director of the Central Oklahoma Clean Cities Coalition at ACOG since June 2022. With a career rooted in urban planning and transportation, David brings a wealth of experience and passion to his newly elected role.
An alumnus of Texas Christian University (TCU), David earned his undergraduate degree in supply chain management and worked in various roles in the field for five years. Driven by his interest in urban planning, he pursued his master’s degree at New York University (NYU), where he collaborated with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority on a capstone project to develop a plan for converting a bus depot to support electric buses.
David’s professional experience includes working with the NYC Department of Transportation’s Freight Mobility Unit, focusing on Vision Zero safety initiatives for vulnerable road users and their interactions with trucks. He also managed the FOCUS on Fleet Safety Program at Together for Safer Roads, a road safety nonprofit. This program provided truck safety training, workforce development, and vehicle safety technology to fleets in NYC, Houston, and Fort Collins.
David’s leadership and extensive background make him an outstanding choice to represent the South Central Region on the Clean Cities Coalition Council.
The Council’s Role and Purpose
Established in 2006, the DOE Clean Cities Coalition Council enhances communication between DOE and Clean Cities Directors, ensuring coalitions remain sustainable and effective. The Council focuses on:
- Strengthening coalition operations through best practice sharing.
- Encouraging innovative collaboration among coalitions.
- Communicating regional needs to DOE.
- Setting priorities aligned with the Clean Cities mission.
- Creating working groups to address specific topics.
- Advising new coalition directors.
David’s election is a testament to his dedication to advancing sustainable transportation and clean energy solutions. His expertise will play a vital role in fostering innovation and collaboration across the South Central Region and beyond.
