ACOG REMEMBERS ANITA KROTH

The Association of Central Oklahoma Governments is mourning the loss of a beloved former colleague and friend, Anita Kroth, who passed away August 26.

For nearly 36 years, Anita was a familiar and welcoming presence at ACOG. She joined the organization on September 18, 1989, and remained a dedicated member of the ACOG staff until her retirement on May 29, 2025.

During her career, Anita served as the Administrative Assistant for 911 ACOG and Garber-Wellington Association Policy Committee while also serving as the organization’s front desk receptionist. In those roles, she became much more than a colleague to generations of ACOG employees, Board members and regional partners.

For many people, Anita was the first person they saw when they walked through ACOG’s doors and the familiar voice they heard when they called. She knew our Board members, our communities, our staff and their families. 

Her contributions over 36 years are too numerous to count. She supported countless meetings, programs, projects and people as ACOG and Central Oklahoma changed and grew around her. 

When Anita retired last year, ACOG celebrated an extraordinary 36-year career and thanked her for everything she had given to the organization. We could not have known then how soon we would be saying goodbye.

Today, we remember Anita not only for her extraordinary service to ACOG, but for the person who provided that service for nearly four decades: our colleague, friend, and part of the fabric of ACOG.
