Rural Economic Action Plan

REAP OklahomaThe Association of Central Oklahoma Governments will conduct a grants workshop on the Rural Economic Action Plan (REAP), 6 p.m., September 6. The workshop will feature testimonials from past REAP recipients including Brooke Hermann, Town Clerk, Orlando, Oklahoma. Hermann will talk about how REAP funds have helped the hamlet of Orlando with new electrical poles, street repairs and a critical tornado siren.

In addition, the workshop will include special training from Barbara Hurdman, Grants Manager, REAP and CDBG. John M. Sharp, Deputy Director will provide welcome and introductions and a brief overview of ACOG will be presented by Jennifer James McCollum, APR.

REAP is a program funded by the Oklahoma legislature. This year’s REAP appropriation is nearly $11 million, which represents a nearly 10 percent increase over last year’s appropriation.
