Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy: A Regional Blueprint for Growth
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a blueprint to grow, strengthen and diversify the economy of Central Oklahoma. CEDS is created by your community – for your community and guides the region to develop together, to the betterment of each local entity. The plan sets ambitious yet attainable regional goals and provides avenues to funding for local public projects.
CEDS is a strategy-driven plan for regional economic development and is the result of a regionally-owned planning process designed to guide the economic prosperity and resiliency of an area or region. It provides a coordinating mechanism for individuals, organizations, local governments, and private industry to engage in a meaningful conversation and debate about the economic direction of their region.
The Economic Development Administration (EDA) requires that Economic Development Districts (EDDs) maintain a CEDS, and that it be updated every five years to maintain federal designation as an Economic Development District. In February 2019, ACOG updated its CEDS and it was published in September 2019. A COVID-19 Pandemic Response was added to the CEDS plan in 2020.
